Create a powerful retreat for yourself to begin that dream writing project or complete it. Join with your writers’ group, book club, sewing group, crafting group, or that special community you need to retreat and relax and reflect.
Gertrude’s Writing Room is the perfect place for you to cultivate your creativity!

Creativity Amenities include:
Free WIFI, large tables, desks, comfy chairs, a sofa bed, large screen television with Youtube, Netflix, Disney, hundreds of films and Chromecast, a large white/wipe board with markers for brainstorming and/or organizing, a full craft closet with hundreds of items, a Mac computer, workable typewriters, a wireless printer, journals, pens, markers – WE HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED. (And if we don’t – we will get it!)
Food Amenities:
Kitchen includes microwave, toaster, coffee maker (and fixin’s), kettle, sink, all dishes, table settings, cutlery, plates, glasses, coffee, tea.

We can arrange to bring food in. There are many delicious restaurants to choose from. We can help with the planning of food/drinks for your weekend retreat.
​
General Space Info: free parking, fully accessible entrance/exit, washrooms, kitchen. Furniture can be moved around, if necessary, to suit your needs.

Don't have a computer, no prob! We've got one! Use the Mac or just the table - either way, the table is yours for reading, writing or creating!
Group Table
Perfect for writer's groups, book clubs, meetings or just plain hangin' out! Connect via chromcast to our big screen television, excellent for adding zoom friends or watching Youtube or Netflix.
Siting Area
A hot spot for journal writing, reading, gabbing and sipping tea. The sofa turns into a bed if you're in need a of a nap. Plenty of soft blankets and pillows for comfort too!
Hourly Rates for Day Visits
HOURLY RATES ARE FOR 1-3 HOUR SESSIONS.

$8.00/HOUR or two hours for $15.00
$5.00/HOUR friend rate for two people (so, two people = $10.00 for the hour or $15.00 for two hours)

Self-Guided Weekend Retreats
Gertrude’s Writing Room is available from 8am to 9pm for weekend retreats. You can book the writing room for any amount of time during those hours.
RATES are the same for single writers and groups.
4 hours/day = 8 hours over two days = $150.00
6-8 hours/day = 12-16 hours over two days = $200*
*This price does not include food. Any ordered in food costs will be added to the price.

Self-Guided Group Retreat Rates:
Group Retreats are for TWO to EIGHT WRITERS.
Writers groups, book clubs, fan clubs, etc..!
